My grandfather and his brothers had worked in this garden in the early 1900's before WW1 so I have a personal interest. I grew up on the produce of my grandfathers' gardens, that was in part inspired by that. Learning about the garden is helping to put meat on the bones of several of my ancestors as well as it being a thoroughly delightful place to visit.

The setting is stunning. Staff in the house were very knowledgeable about the history and details in each room. Cafe menu choice limited but high quality. Too wet today for the gardens but we will revisit as they look amazing.

The gardens of Knighthayes are beautiful and comprise of woodland with various walks, lawns, formal gardens, terraced gardens and a walled kitchen garden. The colours of the spring flowers, daffodils and bluebells are stunning, all located amongst a lovely scenic setting. Highly recommend visiting, especially on a warm sunny day to fully appreciate what is here.

Didn't stay long, but from what we could tell this was a great national trust venue. Staff were friendly and the grounds were extremely well kept. Didn't get a chance to walk around the grounds but the setting was incredible so pretty sure the walks would have been to. Imagine even nicer on a sunny day.

Such a beautiful place during Spring 😍 Totally worth having a NT Membership when you discover gem like that. You can make a day out, plenty of walks and lovely little cafe with good selection of food.
