I was very disappointed by the gardens and service. The gardens are unloved, and over grown. On the waterfall trail, it was blocked by a fallen tree ,that was there a while, my parents in their 70s climbed over it. The bug walkway was over grown ,.with nettles and ferns over the path, so go stung. The waterfall was stunning. The walled garden paths were also blocked by a fallen tree, again it was there a while. There animal carving in the wood are fun, some are new , more are rotten, there is a great rope bridge to cross. The paths were littered. Tissues and plastic cups. There were large storage bags , the 1ton bags buried in the soil and there were three of these. No proper gardener would allow this. The gardens could be fantastic, the are views stunning. The variety of plants are fantastic. The staff were very poor. Our first time to the gardens , 4 people. There is no senior price, I found this inappropriate. We we asked if one map would do 4 people? We were not shown where to enter the garden. We were not shown where the restrooms were. We were not given.any information. Our money was taken and given one map, and that was it. We were not encouraged to dine in the cafe, or restaurant , we were not informed what the menu was, drinks or icecream. I've seen hundreds of gardens , and it breaks my heart on how neglected it was.

The food was pretty tasty but as we were a bigger group the service was kind of chaotic. It was clear the main server was trying her best and was very friendly but the younger staff were all over the place. They didn’t give us menus and we had to read an email menu from one of our phones then write down our own order for them on a paper? Feels like for the price there should have been better service provided. Only visited the restaurant but the gardens looked very beautiful on our drive in.

The staff is lovely. The bedroom was really comfortable, bed, bathroom, temperature in the room, all perfect. Breakfast was... amazing (pancakes were delicious). The Restaurant has a good wine list and the food is really nice. The garden is full of surprises and secret corners, it is a lovely work in progress. I'm looking forward to a future visit, and see all the changes.

Just did a trip around the beautiful gardens. Really enjoyed walking around finding the dinosaur tree sculptures and rope bridge.

This is a review of the gardens which are outstanding. Great walks which are suitable for most people and feature wood sculptures and various other features. Suitable for kids as its a bit of an adventure for them and do the rope bridge if you dare!
