About the garden

Home to a historic mansion, surrounded by glorious grounds, and renowned 10-acre gardens that offer breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde, this is one of Renfrewshire’s most prestigious visitor attractions.

Witness a spectacular display of Snowdrops in the woodland during winter, then watch as they are replaced by a beautiful covering of Bluebells and glowing Daffodils during spring. Feast your eyes on gorgeous Peonies in the walled garden, before unwinding with delicious refreshments from the Garden Café. And don’t forget the ‘smelly’ garden - created with the sight-impaired in mind - or the 70-metre herbaceous border, which provides captivating colour through to autumn. If something catches your eye, you can purchase seasonal plants from the gift shop.

Visitors can wander along one of the many trails through the 140-acre woodland, featuring trees thought to be over 400 years old, and head to the incredible falconry centre. Or, why not let the kids’ imaginations run wild on the custom-built pirate ship?

Fantastic grounds to explore with something for everyone. Beautifully kept gardens and wonderfully wild forest with kids adventure equipment. Lots of picnic benches hidden away and a lovely tea room for coffee and ice cream. We will be back.

Had a fantastic day out for our son's birthday. Norah and the Ark team put on a great day for him and the other kids. Just a great day out. Thanks so much

Pleasant walk until I was stumbled upon by the estate owner Barbara. The rest of the staff I encountered were lovely - the rangers and volunteers on site. Gardens well kept. Woodland space isn't very impressive with short walks and poor play areas for children. Doubt I’ll return.
