About the garden

With reinvented ways of living that support the wellbeing of people and the planet, wine-tasting and weekly drive-in cinemas on offer, a Tree House playground to ignite the kids’ imagination and stunning natural scenery to admire, all through a unique South African lens, Boschendal is a farm like no other.

Within the 2,000-hectare space, a range of natural and formal gardens also await visitors. See Roses in full bloom during summer, watch The Orchard - bursting with Plums in spring - transition to a dazzling display of autumn colour and experience the popular Werf Food Garden. Don’t forget to visit the Farm Shop – the place to go for locally sourced meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables.

Younger guests can enjoy a guided authentic farm experience and learn about botany and animal care while adults run or hike along the many trails, discover the story of the farm through a guided tour or indulge in a delicious farm-to-plate meal at The Deli.

A great little wine farm. Was live music in the garden when there. The shop is nicely stocked with deli items and fresh foods and wine. Gardens were not as big as I expected as all the articles said they were amazing. Loved the wine Christmas tree. Didn’t do the wine tasting. The home decor gift shop was lovely to browse.

Amazing picnic area. Buy your picnic goodies at the Deli and find you a nice place to sit which is anywhere under the trees really. Very nice place for picnic with friends and family. There is even a park area for kids to play. The restaurant by the Deli also has amazing food as well as great desert.

One of the oldest wine farms in the area. Lovely setting to relax and unwind. Fresh farm produce and fantastic wines. Make sure to hit this farm as part of your wine tour.

Still a venue worth attending. Interesting selection of food and well presented. Latest menu change (for me) is less tasty than the previous menu but still very good.

Visited their deli for a light lunch. Good food, good service. We also visited their tasting room, good wines and we enjoyed their bread platter.
