Spent a lovely sunny day here. The house is just amazing with so much to see. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant scones were delicious and the extensive gardens made you feel better about the scones 😁

A fantastic reminder of the ostentatious exploitation of the Empire for personal and family profit. A private army, no less. And you can visit the place they hanged a guy! His name isn't recorded. Perhaps they didn't know it. And there are some lovely, lovely trees.

Castle was half under scaffolding when visiting so bit disappointing. Inside was good with good bit of area to walk around and rooms were full of how the castle was lived in with splendour of the age. Gardens were ok but wouldn't pay separately just to visit them. Wasn't too busy.

Picturesque castle in gorgeous landscape. Must-sees for garden-lovers are the giant trees in Diane's Grove and the wonderful borders in the Hercules' garden
