About the garden

The gardens at Arley Hall have been designed and kept by the same family for generations. A treasure trove for plant enthusiasts, the hall and gardens also host the Arley Hall Food Festival.

The main attraction of this RHS Partner Garden is the double herbaceous border, one of the oldest in Britain. Sit in the alcove and look out over vibrant spring and summer flowers. See Lord Ashbrook’s amazing collection of rhododendrons in The Grove before a peaceful stroll in the Woodland Walk. Enjoy sweeping views of the parkland from the Sundial Garden, and if it’s a warm day, the walled Scented Garden is a must-see.

The Gardener’s Kitchen Café uses ingredients and herbs from the estate to create delicious seasonal dishes. If you’re feeling inspired, pick up your favourite plants from the nursery. Arley Hall also regularly runs interesting events, like Guided Estate and Bluebell Walks, so keep an eye on the website for the latest goings-on

The gardens are fabulous and very peaceful. Lots to see and stroll around. A good idea would be a picnic if you can take one that is. Dog friendly and no stairs anywhere that I could see A well stocked cafe which has an outside area too.

Our first time visiting this beautiful building. We didn't go inside but the building is stunning. We visited the Garden Festival. We will definitely return. The event was perfect for us.

A lovely garden, we went in early June and just walked around the gardens. We bumped into his lordship, lovely chap was doing a spot of gardening in the arboretum and had picked some scented flowers for his wife. He's clearly got a passion for the place. We had a light lunch there too, which was very nice (home made sausage roll with a salad and relish, and a ham sandwich). Would have scored it higher but a lot of the plants didn't have labels which always helps, the vinery/greenhouse was a little threadbare and some of the beds needed weeding and tending too.

We went for the Harry Potter forbidden forest and it was really good. There was lots to see and interact with. At the end there's a village where you can buy food or merchandise. We had a great time.

Beautiful place. Stunning gardens. Very reasonably priced, the food from the cafe was superb and good value for money. We will definitely be going back to visit the hall, as it was closed when we visited due to a private function.
