About the garden

We’d love to welcome you to our estate in the beautiful cool-climate Elgin Valley. Come for a tasting and enjoy the spectacular views across the valley and vineyards whilst we share our story and wines with you!

You are welcome to picnic on our landscaped lawns and enjoy our fresh cool-climate air. We are more than happy for you to bring your own picnic, as long as you buy some of our wine to enjoy it with. Or, why not have a fun game of boule on our purpose-built court? We also have a jungle gym to keep younger children amused.

We had a wonderful afternoon on our first visit. Famous was great - attentive and knowledgeable, as well as funny. The wines are brilliant.

We did the 5km walk across the property. Was great to see the various biomes, orchards and vineyards on the farm. The route is challenging with many hills and downhills. So be sure to wear proper walking shoes. The trail is charged at R40 per person with a glass of wine afterwards. Our dog loved the walk and all in all was a great day out.

We just had a great tasting with Kwanda. He is a very kind waiter and tells about Almenkerk full of passion! We are in love with the Sauvignon and Chardonnay and would recommend them to anyone. We truly felt at home :) thank you Kwanda for the great stay. For reference, a tasting of the flagship range is 75 ZAR. Very very worth it!

Such a fun experience - walking the 5km route and finishing off with a glass of wine at the end. The walk is easy and we were a bunch of friends that laughed along the way. The guy who worked there I have to single out though - Famous - he was fantastic, full of life and jokes! I will go back next time with more friends!! Higly recommend it 🍷
